Resumen
Se estudia la relación entre la migración y sus consecuencias políticas y económicas, bajo el incierto escenario de su vinculación con la transnacionalización del terrorismo de principios del siglo XXI. Al analizarse el fenómeno migratorio, se revisa su comportamiento a nivel internacional primero y en el caso de México después, considerando sus causas económicas, políticas y sociales. Se llama la atención sobre la tendencia a relacionarlas con la emergencia de los episodios terroristas en Estados Unidos en septiembre de 2001, Como conclusión se advierte que el desorden económico y político, exacerbado por la presión del terrorismo en ese país, traba las posibilidades de racionalizar la cuestión migratoria que afecta en forma medular la agenda bilateral de las relaciones entre México y EUA.

The migration of Undocumented Mexicans to the United States in the Context of Transnational Terrorism of the 21st Century

Abstract
The relation that exists between migration, and its political and economic consequences, in the difficult scenario of its possible links to the transnationalization of terrorism in the first years of the 21st century are studied. Firstly, the migratory phenomenon is looked at from an international point of view, and then from that of Mexico’s; taking into account the economic, political and social reasons for its existence. Attention is called to the tendency to relate Mexico’s illegal migration with the era of terrorism that began in the United States in September of 2001. In conclusion, it shows that the debate on the present economic and political situation of the United States has been exacerbated by the pressure of possible further terrorism in that country, which makes it difficult to have a rational debate about the migration problem, thus affecting the bilateral agenda of relations between Mexico and the United States in a fundamental way.
